I am not a pretrib proponent, but I can answer your question.

Daniel spoke of a 70th week that is generally understood to mean a 7 year period in the last days.

The pretrib view refers to this entire 7 year period as the tribulation.

Scripture states that we are not destined for wrath.

The pretrib view says that wrath and tribulation are the same thing, and therefore Christians will be raptured prior to the beginning of that 7 year period (70th week).

Hence the term pre-trib (pre-tribulation).

There are other interpretations, but this is a pretrib forum only, so I will leave it at that.

Blessings,
