May 14, 2011 theory eliminated. 2037 nlt

Postby Douggg on Sat May 14, 2011 1:52 pm

My theory that the confirming of the covenant would take place no later than May 14, 2011 has been eliminated. That leaves only one possible no later than year.

The May 14, 2011 theory was based upon Israel becoming a nation again in 1948. The other possibility was that 1967 recapture of Jerusalem was the base point.

1967 + 70 years for a generation = 2037 as being the maximum timeframe that Jesus will return by. Subtracting 7 years from 2037 would mean that the confirming of the covenant by the Antichrist will take place before then. Since that is so far away, imo following a countdown doesn't mean as much at this point in time.

I have mentioned before and it continues to be my pet theory. The next date to watch for is Yom Kippur 2015. I believe that God has given Daniel 9:27 to be worded ambiguously so that we won't need to be scholars to know the date. 1967 + 49 falls exactly on yom kippur... that gotta mean something.

I understand it's just a theory but I'm not convinced we are going to figure it out by number crunching. How do we get around no man knowing the day or hour?

You are right, SoG. I believe in the imminency of the return of Christ for the church, which means it could happen anyday. However, the 1967 + 49 (360-day year) landing exactly on Yom Kippur 2015 makes me think that 2015 is the year to watch out for. Besides, what is the holiday before Yom Kippur? Yes, it is Rosh Hashana which is the holiday which no man knows the day because it could fall on either of 2 days. It is a theory of course. I cannot prove it. But the simplicity of it all makes all the sense to it. I threw away the 1948 +70 years theory once I came to my own conclusion about the 2015 date. I am not advocating any date watching but I don't think that we will have to wait till 2037...

Blessings,
KA

Just to elaborate a little further... I believe that Israel and the Church are separate. Israel's clock will start again for the remaining 7 (I believe) years. But before that, the church will already be out of here. So my pet "nlt" is 23 September 2015. Not dogmatic about it of course...

True, I was assuming the rapture would happen when the tribulation begins but yes it's possible it could happen anytime between now and then. So maybe we can figure out when the tribulation begins, just not the rapture.

There are some instances where God records a certain number of years for something, when in actuality it was that number of years plus or minus a few months - not always on an exact anniversary. I don't know why and my OCD tendency would prefer it not to be that way, but He reserves the right to have His reasons. I still don't have a problem with the rapture and trib starting at a later date this year and still wrapping up on their "70th" year. A jubilee can't be declared until Atonement anyway, right? Or is it Tabernacles? So if the Lord were to return on Atonement in 2018 to declare Israel's millenial jubilee, we're still good up and until Trumpets this year for the trib to start. I'm still looking for a Pentecost rapture myself. :itsgood:

If a Palestinian state is declared this fall, I'm looking for the Tribulation to start then!!!

Yes, Waiting4Jesus - I guess a rapture anytime between now and this fall (Rosh Hashannah) would be my latest hope for this year to be "it".
