This is sad! It does not allow same sex marriage, but gives the same right the heterosexual married couples has to same-sex partners. :verysad: :disappointed:

This was passed just today.. >:(

Are you from WA State 4Jesus4ever? I am. Yes, this is a disappointment. I was at the marriage rally in Olympia several months back. Man continues the abandonment of God's ways as we head towards the return of Christ. I would expect the legalization of homosexual marriage to be on the ballot next...

Don't lose heart! When He returns, He will judge sin and set things right!

Senator Charles Schumer says we must not rest until we have same sex marriage in all 50 states.

America has seen nothing as to what difficulties lie ahead...Believers are going to have to hang on with all their strength (which the Lord will provide...)...

Referendum 71, Washington State.....

Prov. 3:5.....Trust in the Lord......With all thine heart;
and lean not unto thine own understanding...

6....In All Thy Ways Acknowledge Him,
and He Shall Direct thy Paths....

23....Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble...

24....When thou liest down,
thou shalt not be afraid:
Yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet....

25....Be Not Afraid...Of Sudden Fear,
Neither of the desolation of the Wicked.....When it cometh.

26...For the Lord shall be thy CONFIDENCE...and shall Keep Thy Foot from being Taken...

Praise the Lord...amen

I live in Sodom as well, I mean Washington State. It does look as if it is going to pass. But lets pray that the mail in ballots that have not been counted yet will be ones that reject the ballot. I am a native of Washington, and am sad to see this happen. I have discussed with my wife about moving to a different state, maybe one that is in the bible belt. We also discussed waiting until the last of our daughters graduate and move on into her life before we decide where to move. This will also give us some time to see where laws like this may never pass due to too many God loving Christians living there as well. Well, I guess we will just have to wait and see. For those of you that live in Washington State, in what cities do you live? Maybe we can get together some time in the future.

Pretribber, I live in Gig Harbor, just across the Narrows Bridge from Tacoma. We just need to be a light where we are...as the days draw closer to the Lord's return, it will get more and more difficult. Be bold in your testimony, stand firm in the faith.

I'm a Washingtonian as well.. However I'm not in Washington State for the time being (away for college at the other Washington.. weird.. Heh)

Anyways.. Funny you should say Sodom, because I grew up in the conservative area of Washington (Eastern Washington) so I never thought of it like that until I got older and knew better about the other side of Washington.
I pray that the referendum fails, that there are Christians who knows the truth and aren't afraid to stand up.

It's just a matter of time... Either way, Mrs. B said it all. =) God is still good, ALL THE TIME!

Yep, I was born in Arlington, but spent most of my life around the Everett, Snohomish, Mill Creek area. I am surrounded by the liberals. Though I do have a Mormon family that lives next door. Nice couple with good kids. However, the area I live in is very liberal and you would know it within a few minutes of meeting people in my neighborhood.

I'm in WA state too, originally from Bellingham, now near Tacoma.

It was creepy as I read today about the ref. 71, that's when the storm hit and my power almost went out. Coincedence, maybe.

I have discussed with my wife about moving to a different state, maybe one that is in the bible belt.

It won't help much. I'm in the bible belt and it almost make it worse, IMO. Plenty of talkers, very few walkers, and sin everywhere you look. (So I try not to look:) Trying to influence others for Christ without being more infuenced by their worldliness is a constant battle. Funny, the evil you see around you makes you want to move south....the evil around us makes us want to move north...well maybe a little farther north...to the wilderness of Canada or Alaska. But we don't want to be hermits, we want to do something for the kingdom of Christ, but what? Maybe we could start an orphanage far out in the country and tell children about Jesus. That would be cool, but with all the laws and regulations concerning orphans in this country, I don't really know if it's possible.

The Bible Belt. I cant even say that without a chuckle. It's a joke. Sure, we got plenty of churches. But they are really just social clubs. True Christians who are actually living lives that aren't filled with lust, hatred, and greed? Rare. True Christians who have really studied their Bibles for themselves? Rarer still. But I know they're out there, and I'm thankful for the ones we've met and especially the ones we felloship with on a weekly basis.

I'd just hate for someone to go through all the trouble of moving down here only to find the same evil just as prevelent as where they came from. Just because our state hasn't legalized same-sex marriage doesn't mean that homosexuality isn't rampant down here. It is. We sure don't let our children play outside by themselves. We got a pervert who likes young boys just up the road, and we live in the country! We thought he was going to jail when we saw his face all over the news a while back, but I just saw him out horseback riding with some boys the other day. We've also had doped up crack heads banging on doors and screaming in the middle of the night. Oh well, thats life in the good ol' Bible Belt!
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works. --Titus 2:11-14

Well I guess it doesn't matter where you live I guess. I feel just frustrated that we cannot get away from all this ****.
