Iran Vs. Israel

Postby emptyd on Wed Nov 11, 2009 11:20 am

A couple related stories off of the wires today:

Israel says photos prove weapons ship came from Iran

the article wrote:It was accompanied by photos showing the ship's manifest, containers bearing the logo of the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines and cargo with Iranian armed forces customs labels.

The article doesn't seem to leave much doubt, unless it is all a scam - but where would Israel get this large of a cache of Iranian weapons to 'frame' them?

Obama must choose - Israel or Iran

the article wrote:"The support of both Israel and Iran can't go hand in hand," he was quoted as saying by IRNA. "No change is made unless great choices are made."

The nut in Iran says 'Choose you this day whom you will serve!'

As a reminder to those who don't know (or have forgotten) Obama made his choice long ago. In his book (I think it was called "Dreams of my Father") he unequivocally stated that "If the political winds shift, I would have to come down on the side of the Muslims". There is no doubt that when you observe the political correctness that has infected our country it is reasonable to conclude that the political winds have indeed shifted. The election of this Islamic sympathizer and his cadre of anti-American,anti-Israeli misfits is indicative of a powerful change that will most likely accelerate prophetic events to a soon fulfillment. Those who voted for change will rue the day they made that decision. I grieve and admittedly am somewhat fearful of the implications these changes and events will portend for this country and its citizens. Maranatha!!

Did Obama say 'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction'?
No. Obama said he'd side with immigrant Arab and Pakistani Americans against actions similar to the Japanese internments during World War II.

In his autobiography "The Audacity of Hope" Obama writes:

"As a senator, I receive countless invitations to address the newest Americans, where I am often quizzed on my foreign policy views...

"But mostly they want affirmation that they, too, are Americans... my message is simple, for what I've come to understand is that my mere presence before these newly minted Americans serves notice that they matter, that they are voters critical to my success and full-fledged citizens deserving of respect.

"Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction. [1]
FactCheck.org:

Obama did not say he would side with "the Muslims," which could easily be read as meaning he would side with the world's Muslim population even if it meant working outside the best interests of the United States. He said he would side with "them," referring back to his mention of immigrant communities and specifically to "Arab and Pakistani Americans." Furthermore, he was speaking of an "ugly direction" like the mass internment of Japanese Americans. [2]

I had to google this, and I'm not particularly comforted by the answer. I recall, right after 9/11, radicals saying that they were going to destroy the big satan. I dunno, its all very unsettling.

I stand corrected GS. However, I still don't trust this man. His recent actions toward Israel indicates to me that he will ultimately side with the Muslims against Israel and the U.S. .Sure would like to be wrong!! Maranatha!

I just saw breaking news on TV:

4 mosques in the United States and a Muslim foundation called "Alavi" are about to be seized by the federal government for funneling their money to the Iranian government.

On top of this, it now turns out that the Qom facility has been under construction for 7 years and could be operational within a year.

T-Minus: Hi! Im not sure you are corrected by this, and I wasn't when I read it, either. I tend to agree with your perception of things. If he is siding with, perhaps a global thinking group of people, you know....one world government, then he is still siding against a sovereign USA. The events that have transpired in our government since he took office are nothing short of directly threatening and fundamentally undermining for a sovereign United States....IMHO. His actions against the country of Israel are not in line with the majority thinking of the citizenry for which he is representative. Simply put, he IS who he IS.

Probably so.
Remember in Algebra I how you always had to show your work? That's the idea James is getting at here.

James 3:13-18 (New Living Translation)

13 If you are wise and understand God's ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom. 14 But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your heart, don't cover up the truth with boasting and lying. 15 For jealousy and selfishness are not God's kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. 16 For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind.

So, here's the extra credit.

17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. 18 And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.

This is 411God.
