BOULDER, Colo. -- Rockclimbing walls in campus recreation centers are so 10 years ago. But not every campus has a designated yoga and meditation space.
The University of Colorado in Boulder says its new $84.4 million Center for Community building opening next fall will include a 624-square-foot meditation room.
Students will find prayer rugs and yoga mats in the room for quiet reflection in between classes.
The room was prompted by complaints from Muslim students that they can't find quiet areas on campus for midday prayers. School spokesman Bronson Hilliard said the room could also be reserved by other religious groups or kept open for independent meditations.

Now, those of us who live in my part of Colorado already consider ultra-liberal Boulder to be another planet, and CU its embassy. So this isn't surprising. It's just sad.
At least they're planning to be generous enough to allow other religious groups to reserve it sometimes...though I'm sure non-muslims will never be allowed to reserve it during muslim prayer hours.
