From Slice at www.sliceoflaodicea.com, is her latest article about Rick Warren:

20,000 Gather in Rwanda for Rick Warren’s P.E.A.C.E. Plan

20,000 hopeful Rwandans came out to see Purpose Driven pastor Rick Warren on Sunday. This war torn and poverty stricken country is eagerly looking for leadership and Rick Warren has stepped into the vacuum with his five point P.E.A.C.E. plan and Purpose Driven philosophy. But listen to what he’s offering Rwandans for advice on how to heal relatioships:

During the prayer breakfast, the California megachurch pastor discussed the four building blocks needed for successful relationships – unselfishness, humility, love and forgiveness.

“No nation is stronger than its families – to build a strong church, community or nation, you need strong families,” he said.

So how do people find unselfishness, humility, love and forgiveness, Rick? Can they do this sufficiently on their own, or do they need Jesus Christ? Not one word was spoken in the article about the Gospel, not one mention of the transforming power of Jesus Christ, just the usual explanation of the acrostic P.E.A.C.E. which includes nothing about evangelization. You can’t have strong families and strong churches without Jesus Christ, yet somehow He never gets a mention. Rwandan President Paul Kagame is very pleased to have Rick Warren on board to help his ailing country.

“I want to say to Rick and Kay Warren that they could not find a better place than Rwanda for the Purpose Driven campaign, for good and bad reasons,” President Kagame said. “The bad reasons are related to our history – in our past we have lived a life without purpose. The good reasons are related to our future – that we have a chance with the Purpose Driven Life.”

They have a chance, not with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but with the Purpose Driven Life. I have heard from those involved in cell groups doing the PDL that some Christians memorize passages from the book as they would the Bible. Rick Warren, the hope of the world. The Purpose Driven Life, the hope of Rwanda. How tragic that these people are being misled and deceived.
