Long day....please pray for this situation, too

Postby Jayhawker23 on Tue Nov 01, 2005 6:47 pm

Just wanted to ask for prayer for a neighbor of mine. Her name is Lottie and she is wonderful Christian lady who is a single mom and is struggling to make ends meet. She has two beautiful kids who she can never spend any time with because she is always working, and her dead-beat husband is constantly using and abusing her, if he's around at all.

I have really felt compelled by the Lord to help her out in every way I can, and He has graciously given me many opportunities to do so, which I am thankful, but I still know she has it so hard.

This morning.......she came to my house and was sobbing because her niece (which in her very close knit family is practically like her own child).....suffered an anneourism in her brain. She was extremely sick and passed out in the bathroom in front of her mom and brother. They took her to the hospital and found her brain was hemmoraging and sent her to a special pediatrics ward where they tried to get it under control. I was in the hospital all day with Lottie and all of her sisters and extended family......and they were simply devastated. They were so scared and were crying and I felt like there was nothing I could do other than share Jesus' love for them and for their niece Shannon (the child in the hospital). I felt like there was nothing else I could do.....and any attempt to share the Word with them might come off as preachy at a very inopportune time......so I just prayed and only shared as I was led to share.

As far as I know, now Shannon is a little better, but still very sick in ICU. They don't think there is serious damage......but it is too early to tell. I saw her 10 year old brother just start crying..... and I thought I was going to lose it, too.

Everyone is so scared now.....the little girl is only 12.....and was one of only three children.....the other two were Lottie's kids....who came trick or treating to my house last night. They all came together.....everyone was so shocked that she seemed so happy and perfect the night before.....and now no one knows what will happen to her. Lottie is worrying soooo bad about all of this, as is her family....and I don't know what to say to help comfort them.

PLEASE pray for Shannon, that the Lord will watch over her carefully and heal her from all her sickness, and also, just as importantly, give Lottie and her sisters the peace that surpasses all understanding so that they will not worry themselves to death over this. I know this has got to be so frightening......but the state of anxiety I saw her in today....even after I took her home......would be enough to give her a serious heart attack.

Please pray for everyone involved. I am sorry that my posts are always so long....I can't seem to help that.

Thank you,

Father God,
I pray You will work Your healing power in her body and spirit. May her healing be swift and complete. Give Your wisdom and healing skill to the doctor's and nurses. Let her healing be for Your honor and glory. I praise You and thank You for Your loving care. May Your will be done.
