Obama Movies Yield Boom, Bust Over Opening Weekends The market for films addressing Barack Obama's 2008 presidential candidacy and his term to date in the Oval Office has proven volatile at best: Hagiographies like the all-access, Edward Norton-produced By the People co-exist alongside a cottage industry of microbudget anti-Obama slam pieces like Hype, The Obama Deception and this past weekend's 2016: Obama's America. And thanks in part to election-year grassroots mania (and an interview with the president's Kenyan half-brother), the latter film may yet prove to be the most lucrative of the Obama subgenre to date. But this weekend's other release, The Obama Effect? Not so much.

Released on one screen in Houston by Rocky Mountain Pictures (the scrappy purveyor of such right-leaning fare as Atlas Shrugged and the sleeper hits End of the Spear and Expelled: No Intelligence Required), 2016 pulled in a handsome $31,750 over three days. The showing followed a free word-of-mouth screening last Thursday which featured author/interviewer Dinesh D'Souza (on whose book the film is based) and Oscar-winning co-producer Gerald Molen in attendance; "some moviegoers sat in the aisles Thursday and waited as much as 90 minutes to meet," according to a THR dispatch. I have not been in a movie theater in quite awhile; however, I definitely plan to attend the showing of this movie. Where have we heard 'You didn't build that' before?
Obama's dismissal of entrepreneurs' hard work, sacrifices, risks and contributions to prosperity was not misspoken.

It wasn't a failure to keep his eye on his teleprompter or something whispered into his ear by one of his many leftist associates.

It came from his core and his roots, a leading conservative intellectual tells WND.

The upcoming film "2016: Obama's America" does some digging most mainstream press outlets prefer not to do regarding the current president. And, in excavating Barack Obama's past, the movie paints a picture of what a second Obama term might be like.
"2016," which hits theaters next month, has a new web site along with a new trailer.

I found out about this movie while reading an article recently. I definitely plan to see it.

One of the themes in the movie is the anti-colonial goal of downsizing America in the name of global justice. So, the core idea here is that America has become a rogue nation in the world and also that America enjoys a standard of living that is unconscionably high compared to the rest of the world. So, anti-colonialism is a program of global reparations, not racial reparations. It's reparations for global injustice.

Obama's goal is to shrink America. He wants to reduce America's footprint in the world because he thinks we are stepping on the world. He wants to redistribute money away from the rich and toward the poor. But we are not talking about the rich and the poor in America solely. We are talking about a redistribution of income away from the rich countries – America included – toward the poor countries such as Mexico, Brazil, Columbia, and so on. This is where I think we misunderstand Obama when he talks about the 99 percent. We think he means the 99 percent only in America. He doesn't. He actually means worldwide. It's important to realize that the middle class or even poor Americans are rich by global standards.

We are talking about a redistribution of income away from the rich countries – America included – toward the poor countries such as Mexico, Brazil, Columbia, and so on.

I guess Obama doesn't realize Brazil is a BRIC nation, Mexico is a MIST nation, and Columbia is a CIVETS nation. These are acronyms for groups of emerging world economies who are not doing too bad at all. God bless them for their efforts to modernize and improve their nations. Oh, I forgot BRIC nations are now being considered to be BRICSAT nations. Can anyone guess what the ' T ' stands for in each of these groups ? Yup, Obama's favorite ME nation, to whom he has essentially handed the keys to the kingdom, offering NATO support for their ( muslim ) brotherly actions to bring peace and prosperity to the region.

Well, I did see the movie today and am truly at a loss for words. The best I can come up with is "Wow!" It's a "must see" imo. By choosing a 2:30 p.m. Sunday showing, I thought I might avoid a crowd. I found the opposite; in fact, the theater was filled to capacity and there were only about 5 rows left at the very back of the theater and 5 in the very front. (so close you would probably have a kink in your neck after an 1 1/2)

While the movie was far too detailed and jam-packed with information for me to relate it to you, I can say we found it very methodically done and factual in it's content. It was divided into two parts; one focusing on Obama's background and family of origin and the second on his campaign for president and the state of our country since 2008. It does show how very little we actually know about his goals and aspirations as they are usually clouded and hidden by rhetoric that distracts his audience from the need for that information and is received as "we can" type cheer. The mystery behind his intent remains just that.

Dinesh D'Souza based his presented facts on Obama's own words in his autobiography (Dreams from My Father), his own book researching the "Roots of Obama's Rage," and personal interviews with those who knew him and/or his family from Kenya, Hawaii, college, etc. which are featured during the film.

At the end of the film, the entire audience clapped for quite awhile before existing the theater. I am still mulling over in my head much of what I saw today. It ended with the questioning what America might look like in 2016 if he serves another 3 years given his past 4 years and his apparent intent on the globalization of the world.

The link I provided above plus the 12 min. video provides an accurate overview and certainly impresses one with the importance of this critical election.

Audiences are reported to be clapping with approval at the film's conclusion at theaters everywhere it is shown. The audience was clapping at the public viewing I went to. My own quick survey of a few friends that watched the film with me showed that the movie did not perhaps reveal to them anything new about Obama, but they agreed it was made in a well-done, understandable package.

D'Souza's experience during viewings was perhaps more dramatic. "I would describe it as powerful, energized, tumultuous, ferocious, almost revelatory. I've seen people weeping as they come out of the theater. There have been people that want to hug me, people that look dazed, every kind of extremely kind of powerful response," he told CP.
