Good job originally finding this! (you mentioned having caught it in a previous post). And Lol I hope they didn't wait for me lol. If I may express apocalyptic anxiety, these EU guys are really taking a long time to get the show on the road so to speak lol.
Apparently this group has been up to stuff for a while now, and wanted to merge Van Rompuy's and Barosso's positions into a Super President of the EU as well. This little reflection group is up to no good. And of course, the Lisbon treaty has all sorts of legal tricks they can do to it to bypass referendums. Rompuy wanted to do a treaty bypass even a year ago:http://euobserver.com/18/114533
It is intriguing that it is ten foreign ministers, even though the WEU is salient in my mind at the moment, especially due to its voluntary dissolution in favor of the EU alliance.
One thing that I noticed a political commentator discuss is how these leaders keep throwing around the term "political union" without really defining what that means. Van Rompuy wants not just a monetary union, but a full "economic union" as well. If you go to wikipedia, you will see there that the EU is defined as an economic and political union. So all this talk by these leaders of "economic union" and "political union" is sort of ambiguous, which shows they are somewhat up to no good.
However, I find it very intriguing that a lot of political and economic commentators, such as the Wall Street Journal, say that the EU needs to become the US of E or else it will die. In fact, Wall Street Journal opinion piece even said that investors consider any steps towards something like that as positive, and steps in the other direction as not. They talk about how the EU has to get an economic system like the US or else it will collapse. This relieves some of the ambiguity.
The fact that people are genuinely sitting around the table talking about whether or not they should become something close to the US of Eurozone is incredible. Not become it in 50 years. Like become it... tomorrow.
As far as prophecy theories go, the "EU theory" seems very very well evidenced.
On another note, since you mentioned on Wickus's website that you had been watching "Horizon 2020" and "Framework Program 8," it is very interesting that they are 7 years in duration. It is most likely due to your research that I have always thought that the next european neighborhood policy would be seven years as well, but hadn't looked it up much until recently.
However, some other people, such as Wickus himself, and at least one other person on FP, said that the ENPI was 7 years, and all the others were originally 5 until they changed it to 7? Has it always been 7, or did it used to be 5?
