The battle for control for your mind.

The battle for control for your mind.

Postby lockleyj on Thu Apr 07, 2005 1:21 am

Good morning family .

God is great in this day that He has given unto us today. Let us come into His present and worship Him. Come and lift up Holy Hands unto the Lord. Let your spirit man be glorified in His presence today.

This morning as i drove into work the Lord was dealing with me about this great battle that is going on inside of us for the control of our minds. So lets ask the Holy Spirit to reveal God's truth on this. Let it be even so as i ask dear Lord amen.

The battle that is going on for the control of your mind is governed by two laws.

1-The law of sin

2-The law of God or the law of the Spirit.

Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

In Gal 5:17 is laid down the nature of this battle.

Gal 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

1- The flesh lusteth against the Spirit.

"flesh" (the flesh, denotes mere human nature, the earthly nature of man apart from divine influence, and therefore prone to sin and opposed to God)

"Lusteth" ( to turn upon a thing, to have a desire for, long for) this is the picture of our fleshly desires once again starting to seek those things that will satisfy the the craving of the flesh( Natural man)

"against" ( In opposition to, this opposition can be in any form.) It is like; when you lean against a wall you have to come in contact with the wall where the wall and yourself are in fact pushing against one another. There is a fair amount of friction that is going on in the contact. If this wall was alive and pushes back then there is a battle that will develop of who will gain control of the opponent.

"the Spirit" ( the third person of the triune God, the Holy Spirit, coequal, coeternal with the Father and the Son . The Holy Spirit at the time of new birth come and takes up resident in the new believer and immediately He begins to ex cert His presence in such a way to emphasis's his
personality and character.)

You See here how that the flash of man (the natural man will fight against this influence that He is bringing into the new man.)

The Spirit against the flesh( natural man)

These two identities that lives with in us are contrary the one to the other.

"contrary" ( opposite to and they are oppose to one another.

Now the question is why are they oppose to one another.

It is to gain control of the believer minds.

In verse 18 it tells us that when we let the Holy Spirit Have control ( means to be led by someone) Then we will not be under the law of sin and death. You See when we go back under the law of sin and death we no longer can do the things that we know that we need to be doing.

What things you may ask?

Obeying God is one.

Worshiping Him in Spirit and in truth is another.

Studying His Word is another.

Loving one another is one.

It is to please our Father that must be the most important thing that we do. Loving Him with all our souls and with all of our minds, with all of our might. This is the fulfillment of the Law of God.

Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Gal 5:16 [This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Gal 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. [/b]

Next time we will look at more on this subject that is most important to us. amen

Jesus loves you, Yes He loves you,He really loves us.
It is written in the volume of the book of His love for Us.
Interesting coincidence, because as I was praying and talking to the Lord on the way to work this morning, this is pretty much what we were discussing-my constant battle with my flesh. I am beginning a 40 day Daniel fast (basically just fruits and vegetables) today, so I was asking for strength in order to not compromise in even the smallest of ways. The Lord told me that the flesh will try to defeat me at every turn. My first battle is against my flesh. Thanks for posting this.
Good morning family.
Folks God loves us beyond measure and His love has reached done through out the ages.It is the same yesterday and the same today and the same in the age to come. His Love for us will never change so praise God we can take great comfort in His Love for us. We can no longer worry about if He will ever change His mind about His love for us. It has been forever settled in heaven.

So lets praise Him this morning for His love for us. Let us inter into His courts with praise and Thanksgiving and lift His name up for all to see. amen.

This morning as i drove in to work this statement kept coming back to me as i worship Him. so let us ask the Holy Spirit to reveal God's truth to us . Let it be even as i ask dear Lord amen.

This battle that is waging inside of us is to gain control of the believer minds.

Do need to believe this? I can say yes, yes, yes in deed we need to be very aware of this battle and in how to wage the good fight.

1Ti 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

You See folks it is with faith that we are to fight this battle.

Jos 10:25 And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the LORD do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.

Our faith must be in the Lord for it is He that will do battle for us.

We are not to fear that what the enemy of God and our souls can do to us. We are to be strong in the Lord and be not dismayed which means to be discouraged in our battle.

2Ti 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished [my] course, I have kept the faith:

There can be victory in the end as we fight the good fight over the control of our minds. We must keep the faith at all costs.

1Cr 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].

There is a way to escape the temptations of the battle for your mind.

Ok now Here is the battle plan of God to help you in the battle for your mind. It is this, we must learn to let our minds be ruled by our spirit, therefore letting your faith grow in Him.

Rom 8:1 [There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Rom 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

In verse 5 above it tells us that the battle is won or lost in the things that we have set our minds on. We lose when we set our minds on the flash and we win when we set our minds on the things of the Spirit.

Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded [is] death; but to be spiritually minded [is] life and peace.

Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind [is] enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Rom 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Folks what do we use in our battle for our minds?

"GOD'S WORD"

Hbr 4:12 For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

We are to take our thoughts captive.

2Cr 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

2Cr 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds

2Cr 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Satan will try to take advantage of us by taking control of our minds.

2Cr 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

2Cr 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

WE need to practice ever day.

Hbr 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, [even] those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

We need to practice praying daily.

Mat 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak.

Folks it is in whom that we think on the most that will control our minds Therefore controlling our spirit man.

Phl 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.

Arise children of God and set your mind on the things of God so that the battle for your mind may be won by Him.

Jesus loves you,Yes he loves you, He really loves us amen.

It is written in the volume of the Book of His love for us.
