What Herb thinks
Back Door Man

Some observers are predicting an EU war. I think they're right. If you recall, even as the news was coming out that the French had voted down the EU's new constitution, the EU's High Representative was up declaring that his foreign policy elements would continue Read about it here.

That's why I find the words of the UK's Foreign Secretary, Jack Straw, so interesting. It seems Straw may disagree with Solana. This report says:

There will be no introduction of the European Union constitution, or even a revised version of it, "by the back door" Read about it here.

Straw acknowledges some parts of the constitution may go forward. Staw says:

There are some things ... a few, by the way, which everybody is signed up to," Straw said, citing plans to improve the role of national parliaments within the EU. The voting system will have to be changed at some stage because the Nice formula will have to be changed," he said, referring to the current voting system, which is widely viewed as unfair and inadequate for the expanded 25-state EU.

But, as far as Solana's dream of becoming the EU's first, super Foreign Minister is concerned, Straw seems to be slamming the door. Straw says:

"The (proposal for an) EU foreign minister is much more controversial and I accept that could only in practice come in a major constitutional treaty change,"

In other words, the coming EU presidency of the UK's Tony Blair will not allow Solana's people to get what they wanted in the new constitution by bringing it in through the EU's back door.

Wow! The battle lines are being drawn. Not only that, the stage may be set for the final events of Bible prophecy. I believe in the next few years we may witness some amazing prophecies being fulfilled before our eyes.

You see, if these events are the fulfillment of prophecy that I think they are, we already know what's going to happen next. The Bible tells us, on his rise to power, the coming Antichrist will subdue three kings. And, as you know, Blair is one of the EU's so-called "big three" that is preventing Solana from doing the job for which he was hired -- direct the EU's foreign policy.

Like I said earlier, Blair thinks he's on a roll. I think he's headed for a fall.

Solana's a back door man.
