God Says, "Bring Them Out"

I recently wrote that I thought the indications for the future of Israel aren't good. The reason I feel this way is because Israel has become deeply divided over the best way to resolve the ongoing Israeli/Palestinian conflict. This is part of what I wrote:

Only days after Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon told the European leaders precisely where they could file away their road map, Lieutenant General Moshe Yaalon, the man charged with implementing Sharon's new hard-line policies against the Palestinians, said the policies only "increased hatred for Israel and strengthened the terror organizations" (Read about it here)

And, I reminded readers about something Jesus said about a divided house. Jesus said:

Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and any city or house divided against itself shall not stand (Matthew 12:25) New American Standard Bible).

Here some readers may wonder what I mean. Do I believe Israel will someday soon be destroyed by finally yielding to the international community's so-called peace process? Not exactly, let me explain:

There are two passages of Scripture I'd like to reference, Isaiah 43: 8-9, and Revelation 12:1-3. The reason I chose these two Scriptures is because I believe they reveal God's perspective on today's important events in the Middle East.

First in Isaiah we find God saying:

Bring out the people who are blind, even though they have eyes, and the deaf, even though they have ears. All the nations have gathered together in order that the peoples may be assembled. Who among them can declare this and proclaim to us the former things? Let them present their witnesses that they may be justified, or let them hear and say, 'It is true.'

In the following verse God reminds Israel that they are His witnesses. In other words, God is reminding Israel why He chose them -- to be His witness to the nations. And, God is saying that the judgment of the godless nations will be, although they have eyes and ears, they have refused to see and hear what God has performed in their midst with Israel.

This brings us to our next passage. In Revelation 12:1-2 we read:

And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars; and she was with child; and she cried out, being in labor and in pain to give birth.

This woman is Israel. The child in her is the promised Messiah -- the foretold seed of the woman that, when born into the world, would crush the serpent's head. Naturally, Satan would prefer this child not be born. So, after this first great sign of the woman appears, we read about the appearance of the second great sign -- the red dragon. In verse 3 it says:

And another sign appeared in heaven and behold, a great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads were seven diadems.

Here we have the way God sees Satan and the seven Gentile kingdoms he has in the past, and will in the future, use against His chosen witness nation Israel.

Back to that question: Do I think Israel will be destroyed? No way. The nations may not be able to see or hear, but I can. In fact, I can hear God speaking right now. He's saying:

"Bring them out."
