What Herb thinks
They Found Carlie

College professors may get by with it for awhile. But, don't try to tell me there's no such thing as right and wrong in this world. And, don't try to tell it to anyone who doesn't have their head up in the clouds.

They found Carlie. Her body was discovered by a church that had been praying for her. No, don't tell me there's no such thing as right and wrong.

No matter how badly we don't want to face them, there are some hard realities we each have to deal with. Two of these realities are sin and death. They both exist, whether we like it or not.

I can't get that picture of Carlie's abduction out of my mind. She was only eleven. How could this guy, whoever he was, do such a thing? And I wouldn't doubt the person who did this horrendous deed is asking the same question now; "How could I do such a thing?" That's the way sin is. It takes us farther than we want to go.

And this isn't only true for individuals -- it's also true for nations. That's why what happened in the half-time at the Supper Bowl should concern us Americans. It's not so much the act -- it's the fact that it happened. It's the realization that our great nation is at the point where something like this could happen.

And the churches in America need to get their heads out of the clouds too. They need to wake up to the fact that, like innocent Carlie, if they're not careful they could be lead astray in the same way.

And now Carlie is dead. You know what? I think it's time we get our heads out of the clouds. There is right and wrong in this world. And it's time we stand up for what is right.

That's what I think
