It hit me while Israeli Ambassador Alon Pinkas was explaining to CNN's Lou Dobb's last night what Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was doing. He said Sharon was attempting to create a new coalition government that better reflects the will of the majority in Israel Read about it here. Here's the situation. Elements of Sharon's own Likud Party refuse to back his Gaza pullout plan. Yet, according to Ambassador Pinkas, seventy percent of the Israeli people are in favor of the pullout plan. So, according to Pinkas, Sharon is trying to reform his government to better reflect the majority and allow him to complete his withdrawal from Gaza by the end of 2005. If you haven't yet caught where I'm going, let me post that important verse from the Bible about the coming Antichrist again. The Jewish prophet Daniel wrote: And he (the Antichrist) will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate (Daniel 9:27 New American Standard Bible). Do you see what I see? The Antichrist will make a firm covenant with "the many" -- the majority. Since this agreement will be with Israel, it follows the Antichrist will make his seven-year agreement with the majority in Israel. Question: Will this new coalition government Sharon is attempting to create become the "many" that will make that seven-year deal with the Antichrist? Friends, in light of all the other recent events, I think it's possible. This could be Sharon's coalition of the many. 07-20-04
