Dancing On the Edge

While the Middle East is rocking on a knife edge, our Western leaders are engaged in a diplomatic dance.

Following the surprise announcement that Palestinian prime minister Mahmoud Abbas is stepping down, the European Union's top foreign ministers held an emergency meeting (Read about it here).

In the mean time, the Bush administration has once again been forced to send Secretary of State Colin Powell into the foreign policy fray over Iraq. This means, of course, the possibility of another humiliating round for America in the United Nations Security Council at the hands of France and Germany (Read about it here).

Are these two stories connected? Unfortunately, I believe they're connect at the very core. You see, the moment the Bush administration signaled its desire to seek another UN resolution over Iraq, the initiative shifted away from Washington and back to Brussels -- to the EU's High Representative Javier Solana.

As I've been reporting here on FulfilledProphecy.Com, since the adoption and implementation of Recommendation 666 back in 2000, the real battle that's being fought is between America and certain factions within the EU over control of the Mediterranean region. And, from the very beginning, France -- a veto holding permanent member of the Security Council -- is at the forefront of this battle.

What Am I saying? I'm saying, while our world is once again rocking on a knife edge in the Middle East, our Western leaders are engaged in a diplomatic dance.

And, as usual, the innocent will pay the fiddler.
