Last year during NATO's annual Munich conference the space shuttle Columbia was falling to earth scattering debris across President's Bush's home state of Texas.

Ironically, it was at last year's conference the NATO heads came to important agreements that would allow the European Union to have its own military command separate from NATO.

I know we're not to place too much importance on signs of this type, but in this case it would take someone who was totally ignorant of the facts not to see it. The days of America's global hegemony are numbered.

This year it appears a deal has either already been made, or a deal is in the works. It appears the United States is desperate for international help in Iraq Read about it here. And, the international community -- particularly the EU -- naturally see opportunity in America's desperation.

What does the EU want in return for supporting America in Iraq? The answer is obvious. The EU wants its long sought after place in the Middle East peace process Read about it here. 

No, nobody is coming out and directly saying this. But, for us Bible believing Christians it's clearly the writing on the wall.
