There is much to report. Now that I'm full-time, there will be many commentaries coming. But, before I dig in, I want to make my position clear on a few issues. Yesterday, I announced that I had quit my job to go full time at FulfilledProphecy. So far, only one person -- someone with a different view of course -- wrote saying I best stick with my job. However, I'm sure there will be more. That's why I'm writing what follows. Actually, it's an old issue. Will it be dollars or truth? You see, in our world, the two are not always compatible. For example, when I set out to write my book, Recommendation 666, I decided to remain rapture neutral. I felt the information within my book may turn out to be important. And, I didn't want people not to read it simply because they held a different view on the rapture. You know what? Even rapture neutral isn't enough for some. The simple truth is, our evangelical majority today demand a strong pre-tribulation stand. And, if you don't provide it for them, they will go elsewhere -- along with their finances. As a result, time and time again, people have pleaded with me to stay away from the rapture issue. These are people sincerely concerned for the survival of my ministry. But, the funny thing is, the majority of the donations I receive are from those who hold a different rapture view. Nevertheless, they still feel lead to support me. I pray it will continue. When I was in Detroit with Constance Cumbey for the Watchman Speaks Symposium (CD's soon available), I was asked to reveal how I believed about the rapture. Later, during the questions and answer session, the question came up. After a bit of hesitation, I decided to let it out. You see, I have honestly been rapture neutral. The difference was, when I began writing my book, I leaned in the direction of the pre-tribulation view. But, as I wrote and documented my book, I began realizing how weak the arguments were for the strong pre-tribulation stand some where taking. Then, when confronted at the Watchman Speaks Symposium, I was aware that I had changed. Now, I leaned in another direction -- toward the pre-wrath view. Not only that, I felt much more at ease with the Scripture then I did before. Now, all the pieces seemed to fit better. The pre-wrath view holds that we believers in Christ will be raptured before God's wrath falls on the world. As in the day's of Noah, immediately after God closed the door of the ark, that's when the rain began to fall. So, as it was then, I believe it will be at the end of this wicked age. Now, the arguments will come. Most will be based on a misunderstanding of the pre-wrath view. Others, will be based on a blind acceptance of arguments that I believe were never properly established. Some, however, will argue their rapture view well. And, they will do it in love. If so, they and I will continue to be on the same team. After all, according to Paul, we still see in a glass darkly. That won't change until our Lord returns. In the meantime, we need to continue telling it as we see it. And, not trade dollars for truth. 11-23-05
