Leaders of the world's eight leading democracies meeting in Georgia have decided to created the world's first global army. Reuters reports: The Group of Eight industrial nations intends to help create a global peacekeeping force of more than 50,000 people over the next five to six years Read about it here. Prophetically speaking, this is big news. We all heard world government was coming. Now it's here. You see, a world peacekeeping force will need a world command structure. In other words, a world army will need a world government of some kind. And it appears the leaders of the G8 are more than willing to take up that role. So what's going on here? Is President Bush part of the so-called New World Order conspiracy we Christians are all so threatened by? Of course he is -- he has to be. And so are all the other world leaders. You see, whatever these leaders decide to do -- they will be shaping the new world order that follows the old bi-polar world order of the Cold War era. I guess if we want to blame someone, we must blame Ronald Reagan. He's being credited for ending the Cold War. But I don't blame Reagan and I don't blame Bush. This is what I think: Just like Javer Solana is for the European Union, President Bush is trying to mold this new world order in a way he thinks is best for America. That's because like Ronald Reagan, I believe Bush understands America has become a shinning city on a hill -- a beacon of freedom to the rest of the world (Matthew 5:14). Will Bush succeed the way Reagan did? Unfortunately, I don't think so. Bible prophecy paints a much darker picture of the final world order of man. At least he's trying. 06-09-04
