The Gentlemanly Terrorist

The EU is under attack. Beginning in December, somebody has been sending exploding letter bombs to EU offices and officials (Read about it here)  (And here).

Fortunately, no one has been injured. The packages, all sent from Bologna Italy, have so far been more like party poppers than bombs.

Never the less, it is clear the EU is the target of these attacks. The Italian government is creating a task force to investigate the matter. Since the letter bombs have all been sent from Italy, it is believed an Italian anarchrist group is to blame.

It's going to be interesting to see if anybody stands up and takes credit for these gentlemanly acts of terror. Like I said, so far the bombs haven't even hurt anyone.

But what's going to be more interesting is to see how Brussels reacts to these gentle notices of displeasure. You see, the EU isn't a democracy. The EU's member states are, but the EU bureaucracy itself isn't a democracy. And, it is the EU bureaucracy that is under attack.

This being the case, I suspect Brussels will react violently against this gentlemanly terrorist.

What else would you expect from a beast?
