Now that the signing ceremony in Rome is over Read about it here, their real work begins. The 25 EU heads may have accepted the new Constitution, but their folks back home haven't. And, there's no guarantees they will. So, the next two years the EU heads will be very, very busy trying to sell their new Constitution.

You see, the plan is the Constitution's ratification process will take two years. Once ratified by all 25 member states, the EU will no longer be just a large trading area, it will be a legal entity. This means, within those two years the EU will need a foreign service agency created and running to represent it on the world stage Read about it here. The new agency Solana is tasked with creating will be huge. It will be a global foreign service agency under his direct, personal control. It's no wonder the new Commission president, Jose Manuel Barroso, is said to feel threatened by Solana's new agency -- he should be.

With this in mind, it's interesting how the EU Parliament suddenly stopped the incoming Commission in its tracks. And, of all things, it's over having a practicing Christian within its ranks. Evidently, this is something the EU beast couldn't stand for -- perhaps a crook or a child molester, but not a Christian.

Yet, as I think about it, I have to laugh a little. You see, if you know Bible prophecy, you know where this is all going. I suspect we're seeing the rise of the foretold 10-horned beast from the sea referred to in Chapter 13 of the book of Revelation. And, by refusing Barroso's new Commission at this critical stage in EU development, these Christ hating leaders are just speeding him along. Like I said yesterday, while the cat is away the mice will play. By cat, I mean a properly functioning EU Commission.

So, while Solana is building his super agency to represent the EU's new entity, the 25 EU heads will be busy selling their new Constitution to their folks back home.
