Iran said their response would be multifaceted. And, it looks like it was. On the same day that Iran officially rejecting the EU's Javier Solana's incentive package, Iran also attacked and took over an oil rig belonging to Romania Read about it here. And, since Romania is scheduled to enter the EU on January 1, 2007, this is basically an attack on a EU member state. As I've been reporting, Iran appears to be calling Solana's bluff -- big time. Here is where we all may find out what Solana is made of. You see, according to Solana's own words, the Iranian nuclear crisis is test for his common foreign and security policy. In other words, everything that Solana has been building for the EU since taking Office in 1999 may hang on the outcome of the Iranian crisis. Now, after turning down Solana's incentive package, Iran has basically attacked an EU member state. And, to hang on to his job, Solana must respond in kind. Stay tuned! 08-22-2006
