I read somewhere former Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu graduated from an America High School. I guess that explains why Netanyahu can connect so well with people here in American. But, he doesn't seem to have that same ability when it comes to his own people. Today Netanyahu is Israel's Finance Minister. And evidently he said something that gets every politician in trouble -- he said the truth. Here's what he was reported to have said: We do have a demographic problem but it is with the Arab Israelis, not the Palestinians, ... To stop democracy from wiping out the Jewish nature of the country we must insure the Jewish majority (Read about it here). He can't say something like that -- can he? That's blatant racism. But what if it's the truth? Can he say it then? Here's Netanyahu's reasoning. The report continues: Netanyahu warned that if the Arab minority would reach 40% of the population, Israel would cease to exist as a Jewish democratic state. Of Israel's 6.6 million citizens, about 1.3 million (20%) are Arabs. In other words, if Netanyahu is right, even if the Palestinian dispute were to be somehow successfully settled, Israel's existence would still be in question because of her increasing Arab population. What is Israel to do? As Christians, we know what Israel is to do. She is to turn to her only true Messiah and Savior, Jesus Christ. But as Bible believers, we also know Israel wont do this. Israel will turn to the Roman Prince that is foretold in Daniel for her security (Daniel 9:27). And instead of peace, sudden destruction will come. Pray for Israel. 12-20-2003
