When I read the report, I could see those two images from prophecy in my mind -- the woman and the great, red dragon (Revelation chapter 12). The woman being Israel, and the dragon being the 10-horned revived Roman Empire.

The report was posted on the Internet by the Israeli Haaretz.com. And, it was titled, The leading star of 'Wider Europe' (Read it here). It was about Israel's spunky foreign minister, Silvan Shalom, and his recent trip to Brussels.

If you recall, there has been much talk lately about Israel becoming a full member of the EU. This article, however, appears to shoot that idea down in flames. According to this writer, for many reasons, the hope of Israel ever becoming a full member of the EU "is disconnected from reality." 

This being the case, why is Shalom in Brussels? Well, it looks like there may be another deal in the making between Israel and the EU. They call it "Wider Europe." Evidently, although most of the EU heads don't want an Israeli sitting next to them in the Council of Europe, they are willing to open wide their markets to Israel's goods and services.

Once again I see those images -- the woman and the dragon.

It makes me shudder.
