What Herb thinks

Kerry's Marxist Salute

Younger people may give Presidential candidate Senator John Kerry the benefit of the doubt on this. After all, they might think, Kerry's only making a victory gesture. But younger people didn't see what we -- my generation -- saw in the sixties. In my opinion, Kerry isn't just giving a victory sign -- he's giving the Marxist salute.

I have many reasons to think this. Firstly, this ad appeared beside an online editorial posted by the extremely left-wing San Francisco Chronicle. And, the article it appeared beside was about the 9/11 report that, according to the Chronicle writer, showed the Bush administration may have deceived the American people and the world to go to war in Iraq. The writer states:

In other words, one of the arguments used to justify the invasion of Iraq is fiction. In the months before the war, the White House nursed public misconceptions that Osama bin Laden and Hussein were in league. President Bush exploited this misconception -- by continually linking Iraq and Sept. 11 in speeches -- to help built support for the war  Read about it here.

Another reason I think Kerry is giving the Marxist salute is because of his anti-war positions and his anti-war associations in the sixties. It was a common sight in that day to see these anti-war radicals waving their peace signs and giving their Marxist salutes -- especially in the San Francisco area. And that's my point: This Kerry ad is targeted at these San Francisco radicals.

No, I'm not saying Kerry is an out and out Marxist. What I'm saying is, there may be a serious flaw in Kerry's character that allows him to resort to such tactics as giving the Marxist salute.

This is especially true when looking at what's waiting in the wings when the Bush administration is no longer in the way. After the Clinton administration signed the Rome Statute -- subjecting American citizens to foreign laws and courts, the Bush administration promptly unsigned it. And, the Bush administration went on angering the international gang by saying no to the long list of international treaties that were scheduled to follow.

You see, I believe the radical, left-wing anti-war movement of the sixties was also an anti-Christ movement. And if you were part of this movement, it was acknowledged by giving the Marxist salute.

Like Kerry just did.
