If you've stayed with me this far, you know I've experienced emotional swings over this Iraqi war. And, I've sometimes allowed these swings to cloud my my mind. Some of you even contacted me about it. Some said I'd been a little too supportive of the Bush administration's policies toward Iraq, and others said I wasn't supportive enough. I think both observations were right. As I said, I've experienced emotional swings over this Iraqi war. And, you don't know how much I appreciate all of you who took the time to contact me with your concerns. You know what? No matter our politics, we Christians still love each other. If we didn't, we wouldn't be Christians. In the mean time, events with huge prophetic significance have been taking place in our world. As I write, American forces are occupying Saddam Hussiens' presidential palaces in downtown Baghdad. And, British forces are occupying Iraq's second largest city of Basra. How do these events fit into prophecy? I believe this conquest of Iraq we are now witnessing may be placing the last pieces into the end-times puzzle and setting the stage for the Great Tribulation as described in the book of Revelation. You see, I've been expecting this to happen in Iraq since the first Gulf War. This was my reasoning: All the pieces to the end-times puzzle appeared in place. Israel had returned as a nation. The old Roman Empire was returning in the form of the European Union. A 10-nation military alliance in Europe was due on the scene in 1995. Soviet Communism had collapsed and Russian once again had a single leader. And, China was on the way to soon become a super power. Yet, for me there was still one piece to the puzzle missing -- Babylon. As I thought about this, I realized if all the other end-times pieces were in place, Babylon had to be there somewhere also. This is when I came to the realization that America was going to invade and occupy Iraq -- the land of ancient Babylon. And, in so doing, we would see the creation of the Babylon of Revelation -- the last piece to the puzzle. The next day after I came to that realization, president George Bush Sr. announced he was sending American forces to liberate Kuwait. So, I naturally thought this was my confirmation and we would soon see America occupy Iraq. However, instead of occupying Iraq, after liberating Kuwait America forces were sent home. And, a game of hide and seek began between Iraq and the United Nation's weapons inspectors. But, I still suspected I knew how the game would ultimately end. Now, here we are 10 years later and American forces are occupying Baghdad. And, the pressure is already on the Bush administration to allow the Untied Nations to take things over in Iraq (Read about it here ) ( And here). Here's my point: I think we're now watching the last piece going in place to the end-times puzzle -- the Babylon of Revelation. Stay tuned!
