Recently I wrote a commentary where I compared what was going on today in Europe to an incident that happened in the old American West -- the famous shoot-out at the OK Corral. I said instead of the town of Tombstone Arizona, we have the modern European Union. Instead of sheriff Wyatt Earp and his deputies, we have Javier Solana and friends in his 10-nation military alliance. Instead of the two rival families, we have the United States and Britain. And instead of the OK Corral, we have the UN Security Council. And this brings us to today's news story. It appears the media is confused over exactly what happened at last weekend's three-way summit between Germany, France and Britain. Did British prime minister Tony Blair approve of Germany and France's plan to establish a new military headquarters for the EU outside NATO, or didn't he? If you've been following the reports, you know some said he did. Now this report says he didn't (Read about it here). As I thought about possible reasons for this confusion, another incident from the American West came to my mind. It was General George Armstrong Custer's final battle we know today as Custer's Last Stand. But, a hundred years ago it was the Battle of the Little Big Horn. You see, although history may not smile so kindly on General Custer today, that wasn't the case a century ago. Back then, the American public still loved Custer. He was a young, good-looking graduate of West Point who had long golden hair and distinguished himself for bravery in places such as Bull Run and Gettysburg. And, when the Civil War was over, Custer went on to once again distinguish himself by leading the Seventh Cavalry in America's Indian wars for control of the plains. Unfortunately, the exploits of this golden haired hero came to a bitter end. In 1876 Custer unknowingly led his 300 men against what turned out to be a great Sioux confederacy. And as a result, Custer and his men died while making their last stand on the banks of the Little Big Horn -- thus the name, the Battle of the Little Big Horn. How does this event remind me of what's going on in Europe today with British prime minister Tony Blair. Well, once again we have a young, good-looking personality who has managed to endear himself to the American public. How? By time after time bravely standing up to the anti-American crowd attempting to take over Europe. But, although Blair has endeared himself to America, he has suffered politically back home. And, like General Custer, I'm afraid what we're now seeing is Tony Blair making his last stand. Why? Because Tony Blair's Britain is one of the nations that makes up the EU's new 10-nation military alliance. And, Bible prophecy predicts the rise of a 10-honed beast from the sea in the end-times. Many interpret this to mean there will be a 10-nation led revival of the old Roman Empire. And, if you've been staying tuned to what's going on, this appears to be happening in the new, super EU. However, if you recall the prophecies about the 10 horns, you may remember there is an eleventh horn destined to come on the scene. This eleventh horn will be smaller and different from the other 10. And, he will subdue three of the larger horns. Here's my point: If what we're now seeing in this ongoing dispute among the EU's 10-nation military alliance is the fulfillment of these prophecies, we could soon see the foretold subduing of the three large horns by the little horn. In other words, this could be Blair's Little Big Horn.
