If you look at a map of the old Roman Empire, you will notice it included the southern part of the Ukraine. This being the case, it's no wonder the EU's High Representative Javier Solana is concerned about the recent election where a pro-Russia candidate claims to have won. The bottom line is, as it was centuries ago, the Ukraine -- bordering the northern coast of the Black Sea -- is of strategic value to a revived Roman Empire. And, Solana should not be expected to let it go easily. In fact, according to this report, Solana hinted he wouldn't. Solana said: We will not accept elections which are fraudulent Read about it here I And here.
