You may have noticed the sudden date change for my speaking engagement in Grover Beach, California. We originally set the dates for February 4 and 5. Well, we forgot that the 4th is the day of the Super Bowl. And, there was no way we wanted to compete with the Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago Bears. So, we reset the dates for February 11 and 12. 

Speaking of football, I always liked the long pass. If I could get past the defensive players, all I had to do was keep them behind me while catching up to my quarterback's well thrown ball. But there was a play that I didn't like -- the end run. That's because, instead of me being the one who got the ball, I had to block for someone else who got the ball. And the monsters that I had to block against were ... well, monsters. No, end runs weren't any fun.

The EU beast really needs its new constitution. And, the clock is running -- it needs it by 2009. With little time and much at stake, the EU beast has turned to its new quarterback, Germany's Angela Merkel Read about it here. And, on her very first play, it appears Merkel is calling for an end run around the EU beast's Parliament (MEPs) and Commission Read about it here  I  And here. 

Like I said before, I don't like the end run. In order for the play to work, you need good blockers -- those willing to risk themselves for the team. And from what I've seen, the EU beast may not have any good blockers. All its players, it seems, are like me -- they'd rather be running with the ball too. 

That's why I think the end run will probably fail. And if it does, the poor EU beast may have no choice but to call in a final, desperate play -- the long pass. If it can't go around the defensive players, it will try -- in the few minutes left -- to go over them. The prophecy tells us:

"The beast which was and is not, is himself also an eighth and is one of the seven, and he goes to destruction. The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but they receive authority as kings with the beast for one hour. These have one purpose, and they give their power and authority to the beast. These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful." And he said to me, "The waters which you saw where the harlot sits, are peoples and multitudes and nations and tongues. And the ten horns which you saw, and the beast, these will hate the harlot and will make her desolate and naked, and will eat her flesh and will burn her up with fire. For God has put it in their hearts to execute His purpose by having a common purpose, and by giving their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God will be fulfilled. The woman whom you saw is the great city, which reigns over the kings of the earth" (Revelation 17:11-18 New American Standard Bible). 

If you have read my book and have been following my commentaries, you know that I believe the entire end-time scenario may now be before us. And this opinion includes the above prophecies. It's my view, with its new Alliance of Civilizations, the United Nations could soon become the "great city" that's destined to reign over the kings of the earth. Following their Assembly Recommendation 666, the 10-nation Western European Union has recommended -- along with the United States -- making the United Nations the instrument of a new international order. And, they naturally want to be in a position from where they can control it. 

With, or without, Merkel's end run.
