What Herb thinks
Mystery Meeting in Petra

Some Bible prophecy students believe the ancient city of Petra may be to where the Jewish remnant flees when the Antichrist reveals himself to Israel in the middle of their foretold 70th week (Daniel 9:27, Revelation 12: 6). That's what made this meeting in Petra interesting. However, I soon discovered there was more worth noticing.

It seems that Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Jordan's King Abdullah met together at a breakfast held for Nobel prize laureates in Petra, just across the Israeli border in Jordan.

One article said not only did Olmert apologized to Abbas for the recent accidental killings of Palestinian civilians during recent Israeli air strikes, the two men actually kissed each other. The report said:

The two leaders shook hands, embraced and kissed each other on the cheek. Asked about his handshake with Olmert, Abbas said, "It was very warm, very warm."

By now, I was really starting to wonder what was going on. First, the meeting was hosted by Jordan's Abdullah and held in, of all places, the city of Petra. Second, Olmert and Abbas were actually said to be seen kissing. And third, an agreement was apparently reached by the three parties to have a Middle East peace summit requested by certain, unnamed "peace brokers" Read about it here.

So, who are these unnamed peace brokers? Perhaps if we look at a few more reports about this three-way meeting in Jordan we'll find out. Here we learn that there was more than just kissing and making up on the agenda. Evidently, Israel, the Palestinian Authority and Jordan are wanting to establish, among other things, a free trade zone Read about it here. Now wait a minute, where have we heard this before? In fact, creating a free trade zone appears to be on just about everybody's agenda these days. We see free trade zones in the European Union (EU), Africa, South America, North America, the Gulf States, Asia, and now between Israel, the Palestinian Authority and Jordan.

We here at FulfilledProphecy are naturally most interested in the free trade zone that's being established by the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership for Peace. This is because this particular free trade zone includes all 25 EU member states and 10 Mediterranean states -- including Israel, the Palestinian Authority and Jordan. In other words, this zone may fulfill the prophecies concerning an end-time revival of the old Roman Empire. Not only that, this zone is scheduled to be in place in 2010, which is the middle of a seven-year period due to start in 2007.

Friends, all that's left now is to see if this new free trade zone under discussion at this mystery meeting in Petra has a completion date of 2010. If so, we may have a strong clue as to who those unnamed peace brokers might be. They would probably be the same individuals who are behind the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership free trade zone -- namely, Javier Solana and friends.

And, sure enough, it does Read about it here
