Fulfillments of Bible prophecy seem to come in waves. For awhile, there will be seemingly nothing much worth writing about. Then, suddenly, things began to happen. Well, I think we're on a roll. It seems Israel and the European Union have just signed a breakthrough agreement whereby giving the EU a big foot in the door to the Middle East peace process. According to this report: Israel has taken a "major step forward," agreeing to institutionalize a role for the European Union in regional peace process and non-proliferation issues Read about it here. Here's why this is interesting: It seems the deal that has been struck with Israel is the EU's European Neighborhood Policy (ENP). The ENP, in turn, sprang out of Javier Solana's new security doctrine for the EU, A Secure Europe in a Better World. If you recall, this so-called "Solana Doctrine" has three basic parts. The first part calls for the EU to do more to establish democracy and stability in the neighborhood. Thus, the ENP concept was born -- this breakthrough deal just signed between the EU and Israel. But, that's not all. At the same time, there appears to be major political movement concerning the Temple Mount. Evidently, the international community may be pulling the plug on Yasser Arafat. According to this report, the Palestinian Authority has lost control of the Temple Mount. It has gone back to Jordanian control Read about it here. Here's the concern: Thanks to unauthorized excavation, the Temple Mount area is about to collapse. If that happens, the whole Middle East could become inflamed. Afraid to get too involved, the Israeli government turned to Jordan for help. Now, suddenly, the Jordanians are taking the Mount back over. Friends, something big may be up. The fact is, the Temple Mount will have to be reconstructed or it could collapse. Recently, I stated I thought the Jewish Temple could be rebuilt within a 3 1/2 year period. Immediately, I began receiving emails telling me it won't take nearly that long. One person living in Jerusalem said he had seen the plans. He said everything was ready to go and the new Temple could be up within nine months. And, another person told me there were fliers all over Jerusalem requesting donations and help for the rebuilding of the Temple. Is this what we're about to see -- an agreement between the EU, Israel and the international community that would allow Israel to rebuild their Temple? I think it may be possible. After all, that's what they mean by saying "final status" -- they're talking about what to do about Old Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. How about the EU's new Constitution? Doesn't it have to be ratified before the new, super Foreign Minister can take his seat besides the EU heads in the Council? And, isn't this necessary first to fulfill the prophecies? I wouldn't hold my breath. You see, there are 25 EU member states who have to ratify the new Constitution. This could take years. For example, even the French Socialist Party is having second thoughts about the new Constitution Read about it here. In the mean time, the EU's foreign and security policy matters can't wait. Someone has to deal with them now. And, the truth of the matter is, already the new Foreign Minister to be -- Javier Solana -- is traveling alone and speaking for the the EU. That's because, the other two offices -- the External Affairs Commissioner and the rotating Presidency -- are both lame duck offices. Only the EU's so-called big three -- France, Germany and Britain, have more clout than Solana right now. And, that could change in a moment. Sure, we may still be years from seeing the final events of end-time prophecy. But, then again, we may not. I think we're on roll. 08-27-04
