There's something big going on here. It's being reported all 25 heads of the current and future EU member states want their new, super EU to have its own military command structure (Read about it here). It's also being reported the EU's top military man, General Gustav Hagglund, wants an independent command structure for the new EU (Read about it here). And, it's reported America called an emergency meeting of NATO leaders to discuss the EU's plans for creating an independent military command structure (Read about it here).

So, what is it that is going on? Although I can't say for sure, I suspect we may be actually seeing another major fulfillment of prophecy about the end-times revival of the old Roman Empire. The prophet Daniel wrote:

And in his place a despicable person will arise, on whom the honor of kingship has not been conferred, but he will come in a time of tranquility and seize the kingdom by intrigue. And the overflowing forces will be flooded away before him and shattered, and also the prince of the covenant (Daniel 11:21-22 New American Standard Bible).

Question: Are these overflowing forces that will be flooded away American controlled NATO forces and assets?

Here's my point: No matter what form their Euro-spin takes, the facts on the ground speak clearly. It appears certain EU leaders may be attempting to gain control of NATO assets and undermine America's leadership -- thus explaining America's emergency meeting of NATO. And, it may also be their actions are being coordinated by the prior head of NATO who made this all possible, the EU's first High Representative, Javier Solana.

Like I said, something big is going on here.

What will happen next? The following verse in Daniel may tell us. It says:

After an alliance is made with him he will practice deception, and he will go up (up to Jerusalem) and gain power with a small force of people (Daniel 11:23).
