What Herb thinks
Perfect Peace

With all that's going on around us today it's easy to become anxious. We see natural disasters like never before. We hear of wars and rumors of wars. We hear of famines, pestilence and persecutions. And, we see major signs in Israel and Europe indicating the final, end-time events of prophecy may soon be upon us  Read about it here  I  here  I  here  I  And here

The sad fact is, the best the world can ever offer us is an imperfect peace. We citizens of heaven, on the other hand, can -- and should -- have perfect peace.

The prophet Isaiah said:

The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in You (Isaiah 26: 3 New American Standard Bible).

And, the Apostle Paul said:

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4: 6-7).

Recently, I heard some beautiful teachings on chapters in the book Revelation by pastor Bill Randles of Believers in Grace Ministries Hear them here. What struck me most was his teaching on chapter 5. Randles compared the imperfect peace and anxiety that we Christians experience down here on earth to the perfect peace we find depicted in heaven -- where God sits on His throne in perfect control. Randles compares the restless sea of the wicked down here on earth to the calm sea of glass before God's throne in heaven. In other words, a sea of perfect peace.

Friends, if ever there was a time for us to trust in our Heavenly Father, the time is now. No matter what happens to us down here below, we know that God is in control.

Let's have our perfect peace.
