Although the Western world may be confused about who is really control in Iraq, the Iraqi people aren't -- it's their spiritual leaders. One phone call form the right Iraqi religious leaders, and hostages are freed. According to this report, now China is trying to secure the release of eight of their citizens Read about it here I And here. Where do they go? It's not to the colalition forces. It's to the Iraqi Governing Council. In other words, they're requesting a phone call from a spiritual leader. The lesson being learned is, to govern in an Arab region you need religion -- you need the support of the Islamic spiritual leaders. The situation in Iraq remins me of the movie, The God Father. But instead of a sub-government, crime families in America, we have a sub-government, religious families in Iraq. The bottom line is, the Western leaders will have to cut deals with these Iraqi spiritual leaders. And in so doing, I believe once again they will be fulfilling Bible prophecy. Here's why. The Bible tells us, in the end-times, seculare and spiritual leaders will work together in a vein attempt to establish peace through global governance. And, the situation in Iraq is demonstrating why. The fact is, the secular dream of global peace is imposible without the help of the world's religions leaders. What's so amazing to me is, Iraq is where it all began. In the book of Genesis we learn about the worls's first empire builder Nimrod. And ancient lore tells us Nimrod was the first to equipe an army with bows and horses in order to conquer people. Here's what the Bible says says about Nimrod: Now Cush became the father of Nimrod; he became a mighty one on the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; therefore it is said, "Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before the LORD." The beginning of his kingdom was Babel and Erech and Accad and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. From that land he went forth into Assyria, and built Nineveh and Rehoboth-Ir and Calah, and Resen between Nineveh and Calah; that is the great city (Genesis 10:8-12 New American Standard Bible). Here it says the beginning of Nimrod's empire was Babel. In other words, the Tower of Babel. And here's what the Bible has to say about Babel: They said to one another, "Come, let us make bricks and burn them thoroughly." And they used brick for stone, and they used tar for mortar. They said, "Come, let us build for ourselves a city, and a tower whose top will reach into heaven, and let us make for ourselves a name, otherwise we will be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth" (Genesis 11:3-4) In other words, Nimrod -- the world's first empire builder -- also needed religion in order to rule the region. So, he not only build a city (government), he also built a tower (relgion). Ancient lore tells us Nimrod was the first to use an army equiped with bows and riding horses in order to conquer other people. Now we see our world leaders wanting to unit in government and religion again. And, amazingly, it look's like it may be beginning in the same in place, the land of ancient Shinar -- the land of Nimrod. And Babel was only the beginning of Nimrod's kingdom. Stay tuned! 04-12-04
