Once again, we're hearing about how the prestigious Smithsonian Institute may be involved in a cover-up. This time, it's over an article published by one of their own, Richard Sternberg, about an emerging scientific heresy known as intelligent design Read about it here. The problem is, intelligent design is actually a science. For example, an investigator may employ it to examine the evidence at a death scene to see if the deceased was the victim of an accident or homicide. If a pattern can be found in the evidence that indicates intelligence, a homicide can be assumed. Today, a growing number of academics and scientists are speaking out about how creation contains evidence of an intelligent design. In other words, their is evidence for God. And, the anti-God crowd doesn't want to hear this. Not only don't they want to hear this, they don't want others to hear it either. So, a cover-up. And, according to Dr. Kent Hovind of Creation Science Evangelism, this isn't the first time the Smithsonian has been accused of a cover-up. Hovind states the Smithsonian has been accused of suppressing physical evidence before. So, this story shouldn't surprise us. For me, another strong argument against the theory of evolution is the way in which it's taught. To this day, text books are full of examples that have long ago been proven false. In some cases, the examples were even staged. This brings up the question of integrity. Why do the promoters of evolution continue to use disinformation to support their position? Even after saying this, that doesn't mean I don't believe most of the promoters of evolution don't believe in what they're doing. An example can be made in our own evangelical circles. If you've been around the doctrinal wars for long -- like I have -- you will be startled to find that many of the same techniques are frequently employed. The sad fact is, truth is always resisted. Even sometimes by us. 01-30-05
