Why will Javier Solana be celebrating in 2005? According to this fascinating interview, Solana will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of his 1995 Barcelona Process Read about it here. 

For students of Bible prophecy, this interview is a must read. In fact, I can't think of anything I've read lately that has more intrigued me. So, I recommend that everybody take their time and read it all the way through.

But before we discuss the Barcelona Process, I want you to notice something in Solana's interview.

As for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, he believes that at present there is virtually no peace effort worth speaking of, and that the issue is rife with "disturbing" challenges to the peace process in which the "EU has invested much effort", especially within the framework of the Quartet ... the Arab-Israeli front is the number one concern. The ongoing state of Israeli-Palestinian agitation is the last thing the expanded EU wants to have happening by its new borders.

Now here's why this is so fascinating to me. In my book, Recommendation 666, I quote a comment about the coming Antichrist made by a noted Bible prophecy scholar named J. Dwight Pentecost. In his 1961 book, Prophecy for Today, Pentecost states:

This world ruler when he comes to authority in the European federation of nations will look over to Palestine and see that the Arab-Israeli dispute threatens world peace.

Has Solana yet come to power over the European federation we known as the European Union? Some think he has. According to this report, after the EU's new constitution is ratified by the member states, Solana will have sole control over the EU's foreign and security policy Read about it here.

What does this have to do with the Barcelona Process? Well, the Barcelona Process is part of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership for Peace that Solana negotiated with Israel and eleven other Mediterranean nations back in 1995. And, it is evident by this interview that Solana plans on using this agreement as the basis for bringing peace to the Middle East.

Now in 2005, Solana's Barcelona Process will have it's 10th anniversary. And, Solana says he is planning on celebrating it. Not with a big party -- with a big push to peace. Here's what Solana's said:

We are working on a plan to celebrate this anniversary and when I say celebrate, I am not just talking about champagne, but a new push towards deep political dialogue, social cooperation and improved economic relations.

The interviewer went on to say Solana didn't make himself clear about what he was planning to do. But, for us students of Bible prophecy, it shouldn't be too hard to guess.

No, I'm not saying Solana is the Antichrist. I'm only pointing out -- as I do in my book -- Solana is doing some of the things we've been expecting for a long time now the coming Antichrist to do. And, almost no one is reporting it.

So, should I say it again?
