In our ministry there are two temptations: One temptation is to follow the prophecies of the Bible and ignore the facts on the ground. The other temptation is to follow the facts on the ground and ignore the prophecies. The key is to be able to do both without sacrificing either. When I first started FP's ministry hardly no one had even heard about the 10-nation Western European Union or the EU's first High Representative. And, even the mention of Recommendation 666 would cause eyes to roll. At that time, the only reason the news about these events could have significance for God's people was because of their possible relation to prophecy. Today, it's different. Thanks to God's help and the the World Wide Web, this previously unreported news is almost common knowledge. And, the significance of the facts on the ground are beginning to catch up to the significance of the prophecies. That's why I found these three reports worthy of our attention. The first has to do with the stubborn Israeli/Palestinian crisis. The report says: European Union foreign ministers agreed on Friday to back a Palestinian national unity government being formed by President Mahmoud Abbas with the Hamas movement, Italian Foreign Minister Massimo D'Alema said. But, what really caught my eye was the following: "Javier Solana told us in the platform there will be recognition by the new government of the treaty signed by the Palestinian Authority in the past -- it means recognize Israel as a partner," the Italian minister said Read about it here. The next piece of news is about the immensely dangerous Iranian crisis. "I don't think our American friends will be losing their patience," he said. "We are in the same boat. I am representing them. I am representing all the members of the Security Council. I am representing also the European Union, and I don't have a sense of losing patience" Read about it here. The last report is about the old Balkans crisis. Macedonia will be the first in the next wave of EU enlargement of the EU if the country manages to keep its present fact pace, Javier Solana, High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union announced Read about it here. Friends, even setting the prophecies aside, Solana's rise to world prominence is now becoming obvious. And, we ignore these kind of events to our peril. 09-15-2006
