What Herb thinks
Solana Snubbed Again

The EU's Javier Solana was snubbed by Israel again. Just when the Middle East peace process looked to be headed in his direction, top Israeli officials refused to meet with him.

To make matters worse for Solana, it looks like a deal may have been struck that could leave the EU on the outside of the peace process looking in. According to this report, the United States, Israel and Egypt are working on plans to hold a Middle peace conference in October Read about it here   I    And here.

It's all about that security wall Israel is building. You see, the United Nations ruled Israel's security wall illegal. And Solana, who is the father of the EU's new security doctrine that calls for the creation of a new, international order, has been forced to make a difficult choice. Solana had to choose between backing Israel's need for security and thus pleasing Israel, or backing international law and pleasing the folks back home.

Without missing a step, Solana chose the latter. Evidently, Solana decided pleasing his own political base was more important than pleasing Israel -- even at the expense of being cut out of the peace process. Besides, he has a new world order to make.

Will it prove to be a wrong decision? I'm betting in the long run it won't. You see, the Bible tells us there will be some kind deal made between Israel and this revived Roman Empire we call the European Union (Daniel 9:27). So, it's just a matter of time.

God's time.
