After this Sunday morning's Bible reading and prayer time, I didn't feel like doing another commentary on world events. And, the only way to explain my feelings may be to share some of the burden God may have placed on my heart. However, I want you to understand something -- the things I've decided to begin sharing aren't anything new. It's just they aren't being taught today in most evangelical circles. In fact, I now believe some of the things I want to share are so basic to an accurate understanding of end-times Bible prophecy, that I'm embarrassed it has taken me this long to see them myself. The reason it's important for me to explain the things I wish to share aren't new teaching is because one of the warning signs of a false teacher is when they say that have found something new. So again, the things I wish to share aren't new. I do believe, however, they are parts of the prophectic word that being neglected. If you've read my book, Recommendation 666, you know I'm not attempting to introduce a new way to interpret prophecy. In fact, my purpose was -- and still is -- to do the opposite. In Recommendation 666 I point out how it's possible that what the old Dispensational Bible prophecy scholars said would happen -- such as Clarence Larkin, Charles Ryrie, J. Dwight Pentecost and John Walvoored -- has actually happened. In other words, I owe my understanding of Bible prophecy to all those great old Dispensational prophecy teachers of the past, some of whom I mentioned above. However, I'm concerned there has come to be a weakness in most of today's Dispensational teaching. And, it is this weakness I will attempt to address. That doesn't mean I'll be ignoring world events. I'm going to continue posting news reports and commentaries just like before. However, from now on I will be including some of my insights into what I believe are some of the neglected parts in today's popular teachings on end-times Bible prophecy. Stay tuned! 09-28-2003
