Evidently, prophecy related news is becoming controversial. Somebody posted my last commentary about Jaiver Solana's Neighborhood Policy on a large, pre-tribulation message board. Guess what? It was suddenly deleted. And, my commentary didn't even mention the issue of the timing of the rapture. It's a sad and dark day when prophecy related news becomes controversial and has to be suppressed -- especially among God's people. It reminds me when the leaders of the Roman Catholic Church tried to suppress the knowledge that the sun didn't revolve around the earth. Now, the issue is the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. Evidently, there are those among us who fear it may not be happening the way they like. Friends, facts are fact --even when we don't like them. So, let's take a look at the recent news events in their historic prospective. As you may know, I've been following the rise of an intriguing new European leader by the name of Javier Solana. The reason this man first caught my attention was because he appeared in 1999 as foretold by the prophets -- among a 10-nation alliance in Europe. As far as Solana's connection to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict is concerned, it appears to have begun as early as the 1991 Madrid Conference in Spain. At that time, Solana was a Spanish cabinet minister. However, for some reason, the following year he was promoted to become Spain's foreign affairs minister. The Madrid Conference laid the foundation to the EU's goals regarding the Middle East peace process. At Madrid, the international community decided Israel should return to the borders she held on the morning of June 5, 1967 -- before the Six Day War began. In exchange, the Arabs would make peace. In 1993, Israel signed the Oslo Accords and Israel began down that slippery road of trying to trade land for peace. As you know, it didn't work out as the international community planned. Nevertheless, two years later Javier Solana was appointed head of NATO. It was reported Warren Christopher had been impressed with Solana's diplomatic abilities and recommended him to President Clinton. I suspect Solana's successful negotiation of the EU's Euro-Mediterranean Partnership in 1995 may have had something to do with this. As the new head of NATO, Solana's job was to restructure NATO for the new, post Cold War world order the Western powers were facing. Besides shaping NATO's eastward expansion, Solana was to make it possible for the new, unified Europe to have its own separate military wing. So, Solana set up two new Strategic Commands for NATO, one for the Atlantic and one for Europe. In other words, he split NATO down the middle. While Solana was still busy doing his restructuring, the EU heads were met in Vienna in December 1998 and creating the EU's new office of High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy. And, believe it or not, they codified it under section 666 and added a Middle East mandate. This office was held open until Solana's term as head of NATO ended.. Solana moved into his new office in October 1999. The same month he was also made Secretary General of the Council of Europe. And, the following month, he was made the Secretary General of the 10-nation Western European Union (WEU) -- the same European nations he had just carved out of NATO. Then, on June 5, 2000, the WEU adopted its Assembly Recommendation 666. The next month France took over the EU presidency and, with Solana's help, began implementing Recommendation 666. Soon the infamous Solana Decision followed, and planned 10-nation military takeover of the EU was completed. Here's where it gets even more interesting. Solana's Recommendation 666 was adopted on June 5, 2000 -- the anniversary of the Six Day War. What's interesting about this is, from the very start, the EU's foreign policy directed toward the Middle East is to return Israel to the border she held on June 5, 1967 -- the morning before the Six Day War began. In December 2003, the EU heads officially adopted the so-called "Solana Doctrine." Part of Solana's foreign policy strategy for the EU including getting involved financially in their neighborhood. The idea was to offer the nations that surround the EU a place at the table. This became known as the Neighborhood Policy. These nations include: Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Georgia, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Moldova, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia, Ukrain. And wouldn't you know it, Israel and the Palestinian Authority. When you think about it, including these nations could be seen prophetically as completing the revival of the Roman Empire. And, if you've been following the news, you are aware it sounds like Israel may be interested in becoming a part of Solana's neighborhood. But, that's not all. It also turns out there may be a seven-year time frame involved with these agreements. It seems the EU's next budget term begins on January 1, 2007. The EU heads want their Neighborhood Policy agreements to begin on that date because that's when the funding begins. It will end seven years later at the end of 2013. Like I said, a seven year period. Question: Could these agreements become the covenant with the many foretold in prophecy? Friends, I'm the first to say these news events may not be the fulfillments of prophecy we've all been waiting for. I really don't know. All I can say is, they could be. So, I'm busy trying to report them to God's people. But, evidently, we've arrived at a day when some don't think I should. Something's wrong in Vangelicaland. 10-22-04
