What Herb thinks
Spectators not Speculators

As you may already know, FulfilledProphecy is different. Instead of dealing with what may be going to happen in Bible prophecy, we try to focus more on reporting what may have already happened. In fact, that's where our name came from -- fulfilled prophecy.

The reason I feel the need to remind people of this difference is because I'm often asked why I don't deal with this or that issue. The answer usually is the same. If I began spending time on the suggested issue, I may cross over the line from spectator to speculator.

That doesn't mean I'm never guilty of a little speculation. When dealing with a subject like prophecy, it's hard not to do so. But, I really try to keep my speculations to a minimum and focus instead on the facts on the ground.

This brings us to today's news. But, before I comment, let's take a quick look at history.

In 1992 Israel, the central geo-political figure of Bible prophecy, changed direction and began attempting to trade land captured in the Six Day War for peace. It is here I believe we may find the fulfillment of Apostle Paul's words in 1 Thessalonians 5:3. If so, we know who's coming -- the Roman prince of Daniel 9:26, and the the Antichrist of 1 John 2:18.

But, before the Antichrist can come on the world scene, we need the foretold 10 kings of Daniel 7: 7-8 and Revelation 13: 1. As I've been reporting, in 1995, the Western European Union (WEU) became a military alliance of 10 nations. And, in 1999, the first High Representative of the Common Foreign and Security Policy for the European Union (EU) appeared, the former head of NATO, Javier Solana. Solana was also made head of the 10-nation WEU military alliance.

According to Daniel 9:27, the coming Roman prince will make -- or confirm -- a seven-year covenant with many, which he will break in only 3 1/2 years. As I write, there is on the ground an existing covenant with many. It's called the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership for Peace (Euromed). Interestingly enough, the agreement was negotiated in 1995 by the same man who became the EU's first High Representative -- Javier Solana.

The Euromed agreement hasn't gone away. It still provides the foundation for the EU's relationship with the Mediterranean region -- including the Palestinian Authority and Israel. And, as I've been reporting, beginning in 2007, the EU plans on using Solana's European Neighborhood Policy Instrument to breathe new life in their Euromed scheme. In other words, to confirm it. And, to do so for a seven year period. The EU's ultimate goal is to have an area of peace and security established over the region by 2010.

Now for today's news. It seems that the Hamas victory has become a fly in Solana's Euromed soup. Naturally, Solana is very much concerned. So, he has asked Israel's new Interim Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, to have restraint in reacting to the recent suicide bombing in Tel Aviv Read about it here. Olmert, evidently, may have agreed Read about it here. Why is that?

Here's what I think: Unfortunately, it may be time for us prophecy students to stop speculating and start reporting. The facts on the ground appear to be possible fulfillmments of Bible prophecy. In fact, as you may know, I have only mentioned a few of the events. And, if we continue to speculate in face of these facts on the ground, we may become like those religious leaders who in the past also refused to see and began persecuting those who did.

Prophecy friends, the time may have come for us to take a stand.

And, to become spectators not speculators.
