Actually, when I think about it, this is all quite funny. Evidently, Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon decided anyone who meets with Palestinian leader Yaser Arafat can't meet with him or any top Israeli officials (Read about it here).

Why? Because, Sharon is sick and tired of seeing Arafat's smiling face appearing in the media beside all the world leaders who keep flocking in to visit with him.

Here's where it gets even funnier: As you may know, the EU leaders -- including High Representative Javier Solana -- are all very eager to get their sticky little fingers into the Middle East peace process. However, their unwavering affection for their smilely-faced Palestinian friend is preventing them from being able to even visit the region.

In other words, the EU's stuck on Arafat. 

I think it's funny.
