In several places the Bible indicates that in the end of the end-times, Israel will be deceived into accepting a false plan for peace. For example, speaking to a future prince to Israel's extreme north, God says: After many days you will be summoned; in the latter years you will come into the land that is restored from the sword, whose inhabitants have been gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel which had been a continual waste; but its people were brought out from the nations, and they are living securely, all of them. You will go up, you will come like a storm; you will be like a cloud covering the land, you and all your troops, and many peoples with you. Thus says the Lord GOD, "It will come about on that day, that thoughts will come into your mind and you will devise an evil plan, and you will say, 'I will go up against the land of unwalled villages I will go against those who are at rest, that live securely, all of them living without walls and having no bars or gates'" (Ezekiel 38:8-11 New American Standard Bible). This invasion from the north has yet to happen. And, according to the rest of the Ezekiel prophecy, the result of the war will be God once again revealing Himself to Israel and the surrounding nations. And, the war will lead to Israel's spiritual rebirth (Ezekiel 38:19-23, 39:1-7). On June 6, 2006, the EU's Javier Solana delivered his so-called "six-nation incentive package" to Iran. The six nations Solana represented are the five permanent members of the UN Security Council -- the US, France, the UK, Russian and China -- and Germany. Although offered by the international community, it was Solana's deal. In exchange for giving up their nuclear program, Solana was offering Iran a Middle East nuclear free zone -- which includes Israel, and a cooperative security arrangement over the entire region. The legal basis for Solana's peace scheme is partly UN Resolution 1701. If you recall, at the request of the Arab League, the cease-fire resolution to bring an end to the Israeli/Lebanon War was changed to include a "comprehensive" settlement to all the issues troubling the Middle East -- including an end to the Israeli/Palestinian dispute. I believe it may have been no accident when Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert let it slip that Israel was a nuclear power. After all, if Israel was preparing to give up her nuclear arms in order to enter into a cooperative security arrangement with her neighbors, Israel would first have to acknowledge having them. Now we are hearing there may be movement in Solana's negotiations with Iran Read about it here I And here. Friends, I suspect that the false peace that's foretold in Bible prophecy may not be very far away. Are you ready? 04-26-2007
