Not since Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchyov slammed his shoe on the podium of the UN has the world community heard such an attack against the advocates of freedom. Today, Venezuela's Hugo Chavez called US president George Bush El Diablo Read about it here. As you may know, El Diablo is Spanish for "the devil." It's time for God's people to wake up. Friends, whether we like it or not, American president Bush represents the last pocket of real power for who the Bible calls "the holy people" (Daniel 12:7). Here we find a despot calling Bush -- the man who politically represents us -- the devil. And, when Chavez finished his diatribe, the world leaders nearly gave him a standing ovation. If you recall, Jesus told us this would happen. Jesus said: A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a slave above his master. It is enough for the disciple that he become like his teacher, and the slave like his master. If they have called the head of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign the members of his household! (Matthew 10:24-25 New American Standard Bible). This morning I received a call from someone who is helping me in researching the UN's Alliance of Civilizations (AOC). What he's finding should concern us. He has found a direct connection between the goals of the AOC and the UN's Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). Here is some of what he found: UN Security Council document S/2005/567.
"2. To foster this, we agree that it is necessary to proceed towards a partnership among civilizations, involving all stakeholders--Governments, intergovernmental organizations and civil society. This partnership will represent a powerful response to those who feed on exclusion and arrogantly claim the sole ownership of truth..." In other words, the founders of the AOC want to wage war with the Lamb -- the One who said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me" (John 14:6). As I was thinking about what's really going on in the UN, my mind went to another Scripture. Why are the nations in an uproar and the peoples devising a vain thing? The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers take counsel together against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, "Let us tear their fetters apart and cast away their cords from us!" He who sits in the heavens laughs, the Lord scoffs at them. What does God do? He issues a decree from His throne. Notice, as in Matthew 24: 9, the next verse also begins with the word "then." In other words, this decree will happen at the foretold time of the end. In fact, we learn more details about this event in Revelation chapters four through six. As a result of this decree, the Antichrist and his war against the saints and the land of Israel will be finally brought to an end. The passage goes on to say: Then He will speak to them in His anger and terrify them in His fury, saying, "But as for Me, I have installed My King upon Zion, My holy mountain." Now, we find the spirit of Christ speaking. "I will surely tell of the decree of the LORD: He said to Me, 'You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. 'Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, And the very ends of the earth as Your possession. 'You shall break them with a rod of iron, You shall shatter them like earthenware'" (Psalms 2:1-9). Here we have the Revelation account of the Lamb breaking the seven-seals already being described in the Old Testament. And, the events appear to happen in a different way from that which we've been taught. The events of the scroll decree happen as a result of the appearing of the Antichrist and his war against the saints, not before -- as it also does in Daniel 7: 8-11. Friends, I think it's time to wake up. 09-20-2006
