The Tinkerbell Spirit

In my last commentary, I said I thought the nations of the world were choosing sides. And, I said the real issue before them was not whether to support an Iraqi war, the choice before them was whether to side with the American world forces, or the anti-American forces (Read about it here).

Now it appears the religious leaders of the world have begun choosing sides too. It's been reported that the Pope has strongly voiced his opposition to an Iraqi war and has even gone so far as to send Cardinal Roger Etchegaray to Baghdad to hold direct peace talks with Iraqi President Saddam Hussein (Read about it here).

What's wrong with a powerful religious figure like the Pope trying to stop a war? The problem I have with it is, the Pope is too smart to follow the Tinkerbell spirit, as do most of the so-called "spiritual leaders" of today's growing anti-war movement (Read about it here). This Pope -- using Javier Solana's term -- is a binary thinker. I believe he thinks logically not emotionally.

Here's why I belive this: Even if you don't agree with John Paul's Christianity, you have to admire his political savvy. Not long ago the Pope paid a visit to Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, president of the Convention on the Future of Europe. His goal was to convince Giscard to include a clause within the European Union's new constitution that referred to Christianity as Europe's religious heritage.

After meeting with Giscard, the Pope addressed the Italian Parliament. And, he gave the same message to Italy's political leaders that he gave to Giscard -- he said the new, super EU needs to remember Europe's spiritual (Christian) heritage. Among these leaders was Italy's billionaire Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi.

As I said, you have to admire his political savvy. You see, John Paul knows who will be making the most important decisions about the nature of the new, super EU. It will be Giscard and Berlusconi. Giscard is the man responsible for the new Constitutional Treaty, and Berlusconi will hold the EU presidency when all the final decisions are made.

Here's my point: It appears to me that the end-times prophecies are all beginning to come to pass. Both our world's political and religious leaders are now choosing sides. And, as I said before, the real issue before them isn't war or peace. The true issue is geo-political.

You see, I believe the final stand for God's people in our world today is through American influence and power. After America's global power is broken, the foretold 10-horned beast of Revelation -- the Antichrist -- will rise its ugly head on the European Continent. This is what I believe is meant by the following passages:

"And in his place a despicable person will arise, on whom the honor of kingship has not been conferred, but he will come in a time of tranquility and seize the kingdom by intrigue. And the overflowing forces will be flooded away before him and shattered, and also the prince of the covenant" (Daniel 11:21-22 New American Standard Bible).

You see, no matter what our world's political and religious leaders are telling us, the real issue before us today isn't between war and peace. Our choice is between real-time geo-political forces of good and evil. And, its between God's Spirit and Satan's counterfit Tinkerbell spirit.

Unfortunately, we Bible believers already know which choice our world leaders will make.

However, we also know which side wins.
