I thought it was a left-wing conspiracy. I was wrong -- it's a right-wing conspiracy! Just kidding -- I think. As you know, we've been watching the rise of the EU's military wing and the man in charge -- the EU's High Representative Javier Solana. This military wing is the Western European Union. The WEU is a ten nation alliance made up of both EU and NATO member states. What binds them together is the mutual defense obligation they share with each other in the modified Brussels Treaty. In other words, an attack against one of these member states is an attack against all ten. If you want the complete picture of the rise of the 10-nation WEU and Solana you should consider reading my book, Recommendation 666. You will also see how I suspect we may now be witnessing the fulfillment of the final end-times prophecies in real time. Back to my right-wing conspiracy idea. This morning I ran across a think-tank analysis published way back in 1995 calling for the WEU to replace NATO. The amazing thing to me was, the analysis wasn't from a left-wing think-tank. It was from the conservative Cato Institute located in Washington D.C. Read it here. Another interesting thing about the analysis is its publication date. Only a few months later, then President Bill Clinton appointed Javier Solana head of NATO. Part of Solana's mandate was to restructure NATO so the EU could have its own independent military. After Solana's term as head of NATO ended, Solana became the man responsible for creating the EU's military wing by becoming the EU's first High Representative. What did he do? He implemented Recommendation 666 and incorporated the 10-nation WEU into the Council of Europe. In other words, he made the 10-nation WEU the EU's military wing. Back to the Cato Institute's analysis. Question: Has that been the plan all along? Are we seeing the WEU slowly replacing NATO? Sure looks possible. 05-08-04
