If it wasn't for Bible prophecy, I'd never think it possible. Evidently, Israel's last worldly friend, America, is asking Israel to enter into an international treaty that would freeze her existing stocks of nuclear weapons Read about it here. The next step, of course, could be a nuclear free Middle East and, ultimately, Armageddon. As far as America is concerned, I fear September 11 may have revealed something not being acknowledged. In fact, there's a question that's haunting me. Why did God allow it to happen? I'm not referring to the planes hitting buildings. I'm referring to the over-the-top type of success that God evidently gave our enemies. The towers weren't only struck, they completely collapsed. And, the whole world watched as the unbelievable happened. Then there was Katrina. Once again, the whole world watched in unbelief. Here's another question: Why did President Bush pick a military man to head the CIA? Perhaps this article tells us. If America is going to war with Iran the ground needs to be prepared. Such preparation takes good intelligence -- enter U.S. Air Force General Michael Hayden Read about it here. This is a scary thought. But, there may be merit to it. Furthermore, I was watching Hayden on CSPAN and this was basically what he was saying himself. But, there's a scarier thought. We shouldn't see today's news events individually. If all the above is true, then there's also reason for Hamas acting up Read about it here. Does Hamas really care about Iran? The better explanation is Russia cares about Iran. And, if the attached article is true, Russia again cares in a big way Read about it here. According to Andrey Illarionov, a former Russian official, Russia may actually be preparing for war. And, we prophecy students already know which war. It's foretold in Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39. The Ezekiel war is a popular subject in most of my prophecy books. When I stack them, they come as high as my chin before falling. You know what, as unbelievable as it sounds, all except one teaches the pre-tribulation rapture doctrine of the church. On top of that, they're also filled with many well-intended speculations that, in most cases, turned out to be in error. The more I thought about this insane situation, the more it bothered me. While fooling around with my books, I listened to a popular prophecy teacher speaking on TBN. With much I agreed. But, when it came to where I thought he should be giving a word of warning to God's people, he did what most of our modern teachers do. He said the good news is we don't have to worry about any of this. We'll be raptured out of here first. I thought about what this person confidently promised. It reminded me of some passages from Jeremiah. The prophet was given a warning to God's people, but no one was listening. God said through Jeremiah: The priests did not say, 'Where is the LORD?' And those who handle the law did not know Me; The rulers also transgressed against Me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal and walked after things that did not profit (Jeremiah 2: 8 New American Standard Bible). And, concerning His people, God said: The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule on their own authority; and My people love it so! But what will you do at the end of it (Jeremiah 5:31)? Here is what I fear. With another war possibly on the horizon, no one is asking, "Where is the Lord?" Instead, we're being told everything is OK. Sound familiar? 05-19-06
